After they have ruined the currency through hyper-inflation, wonder if the Democrats will just have NIH develop a “vampire chip” that they can implant in everyone (claiming it contains your medical records or some such), that will sap the metabolic energy out of tax serfs in lieu of money, and keep plastic fembots like Pelosi and walking cadavers like Reid alive by allowing them to literally suck the life out of us.
Fellow Ugandans,
Does this look familiar? How has Ugandan families coped? What has happened to the wives and children left in Uganda? What has happened to husbands left in Uganda? Have the migrant husbands or wives started new families abroad? What is its contribution to the spread of HIV/AIDS? How have the children turned out from the absent father or mother? What is the morale of the migrant husband or wife? Can marriage be long distance and work? Do we need to refresh the marriage vows for poor or rich? Is this the new/Millenium slavery? Is this worth it? What does God say about it? What can be done to help the migrant husbands or wives abroad or at home; socially, financially, emotionally and spiritually?
Who is not already affected?

Does banning ever work?
*Most radio stations in Somalia have stopped playing music, on the orders of Islamist Hizbul-Islam insurgents who say that songs are un-Islamic. But is banning effective?*
Throughout history there have seen attempts to ban many things from political gatherings, books and movies, to public displays of affection and smoking. But do these bans work?
*What has been banned in your country and how did you react? Does it make the forbidden fruit seem more attractive? Do you comply or rebel?*
Ladit WBK,
Some meanings came off from mine. Like I was saying, when Kosla (UPC) stood against James Ochola (DP before he later crossed over to just UPC), people enjoyed riding those free bicycles from Kosla (Asian Ugandan business man). Kosla provided people with Sunlight soaps, Bars of soap, bicycles, posho…, name it.
But to Kosla’s horror, people ate and cycled to vote Ochola in, aha aha aha!!
Now, about yours here below, I bear with you there. You know, this corresponds to the “LAST MINUTE SYNDROM” you mentioned some where.
The opposition have for the last three mandate periods (!!!!) only had ” MUSEVENI MUST GO” policy. We don’t even need many opposition parties.
And the IPC came at a wrong time. For a party like the UPC which just changed leadership and perhaps even direction, they would have needed more focus on building up a clear winner profile. But now, the IPC cuts UPC wings: they can not ravage without restrain with respect to the cooperation.
THREE MANDATE PERIODS AND THE OPPOSITION PARTIES STILL HAVE NOT ESTABLISHED CLEAR PROFILES ON KEY ISSUES!??!?!?
It is only in Africa this is possible.

Mr Noc’la:
To be honest it is not the Ug shs 2, 000 that will do in in the opposition. The opposition is behaving funny. They better get their act together if they hope to defeat YKM.
We keep asking where are the ideas for the peasant to chew on? If YKM is giving them money for kwete/waragi and sabu lenya, then the opposition should be feeding them on transformative ideas. But where are those ideas folks?
If the opposition is being outspent, it should at least counter with inspirational ideas.
WBK
DAMN RIGHT, WBK, it works and all of the candidates apply it.
Even in Uganda. Right from the start!! You know, in Tororo when the Asian-Ugandan business man Kosla (UPC) was standing against James Ochola (DP …….., name it. Äh, why not when the culture is such?! Noc’l THE GOOD BOOK SAYS, ” WE FORM THE CULTURE THAT FORMS US ” Noc’la gmoy

You keep saying YKM pays people 2000 shillings to attend rallies. If it is true, just remember that money or sabuni/soap and sugar work. Mr. Moi used it all the time and he even gave less or two kg of Jogoo. Mr. Moi could even rub it after as when he went to Kisumu and told the voters “rifu ttanu tosha” meaning that the people of Nyanza could be paid off to do Moi’s dirty works for a mere Kshs 5, 000. He would never dare utter those rifu ttanu” epithet anywhere else. Mr. Moi was a character
Again if YKM is paying off people-that should be illegal is it not-the opposition better pay attention because for the peasants in Uganda the Ugs shs 2, 000 works on their psychic. It may be Viagra money from UNAIDS or money meant for malaria drugs but the peasants are happy to take it. Money like political ads actually works wonders.
I wish the Courts had sent a strong message on voter buying by barring Reverend Bakaluba Mukasa or anyone found to have bribed voters.
What if the folks go to see the big vehicles and mamba YKM travels with? What if they go to see how the son is guarding mzee? I mean village folks are simple people and could be attending NRM and opposition rallies too for various reasons. Sure money for kill me quick if it is given, they will take it.
What is the law about bribing voters with Ugs shs 2, 000 or sugar?

David Brooks: Yes. I was going to say that for the first time in human history, rich people work longer hours than middle class or poor people. How do you construct a rich versus poor narrative when the rich are more industrious? I had to read this thing twice before it registered that Brooks was actually saying that he was rooting for the rich against the poor. If he keeps this up, he’s going to make his way into the Guinness Book for having extended his tongue at least a foot and a half farther up the ass of the Times’s Upper East Side readership than any previous pundit in journalistic history. But then you come to this last line of his, in which he claims that “for the first time in history, rich people work longer hours than middle class or poor people,” and you find yourself almost speechless. I would give just about anything to sit David Brooks down in front of some single mother somewhere who’s pulling two shitty minimum-wage jobs just to be able to afford a pair of $19 Mossimo sneakers at Target for her kid, and have him tell her, with a straight face, that her main problem is that she doesn’t work as hard as Jamie Dimon.
I’d sit down and tell her face to face she didn’t work hard enough. Why is she working two minimum wage jobs? Oh yeah, bitch quit high school, got her ass pregnant, perhaps earned a criminal record, while Mr. Dimon was earning multiple degrees, preparing for a future. There are consequences for being a screw-up in life, one consequence is being poor. Self inflicted.
