Kateregga,

If Otunu is a homo then he must defend himself. Similarly if Museveni asajalatira ku bakabasajja, he must also defend himself.

Kateregga,

You know a lot about Ugandan History. Do you have any clues to George’s claims. Could that explain why Gertrude is no-longer with Sam? If they have a kid where is she/he.

This is very serious and can seriously work against Museveni if proved right. We cant have an immoral person for a president.

Mr. Kateregga,

Are you stating that Ugandan men are above the law? that Ugandan policemen are above the law? That Uganda Army is above the law? that Ugandan appointed and elected public officials are above the law? That just because they are men they are above the law? Are you as a man above the law? You said that, “..My only caution is the risk by these ladies like Ingrid in dealing with our men regardless of class, status, profession, political affiliation etc” The law is passed and enacted on such men as you describe otherwise there would be no law, or we would have segregated laws for men and women. That cannot work. Perhaps it may work in Shariah law, yet it is also questionable by both men and women. I find your caution very intimidating especially to Ingrid and friends yet you are in a journalist capacity.

Yesterday I was watchin MLK program -The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.on CNN as reported by Soledad O’Brien. Everything was documented and we were able to read, see and hear about the Civil Rights Movement in USA. On December 1, 1955, Rosa Parks defied government control and chose her own seat on a bus. Her exercise of liberty was a key catalyst in launching the civil-rights movement. America was changed forever.

Kateregga,

Don’t ever forget that you have been cautioned by Ugandan men regardless of their class, status, profession, or political affiliaton etc…..!

Take those cautions very seriously.

And let Ugandan women do their political participations! Otherwise, you risk being dealt with by some big guns!

Okay?

We shall stone Ankole kingdom supporters — Kahinda Otafiire

January 3rd, 2010 1 comment

This is really the true image of the regime and they always get away with this but if a man like Kyanjo says something it is not good. The two laws in Uganda one for the dictator and his pupets and the other for the rest.   John Lema. CHRIS AHIMBISIBWE

The Minister for Trade and Industry, Maj. Gen. Kahinda Otafiire, has warned district councils in the Ankole region not to approve the restoration of the Ankole kingdom.

The minister vowed that whoever passes a resolution to restore the Ankole kingdom will be stoned.

Otafiire was upset by councillors in the region for debating the matter in the district councils without consulting NRM leaders.

“You discussed the issue, as who? We shall stone whoever approves the restoration of Ankole kingdom. We do not want councilors to take positions on such matter without consulting,” he said.

He was on Thursday addressing over 1,000 youth during the launch of the Bushenyi district youth network at the Bushenyi multipurpose hall.

Otafiire argued that if the aim is to attract funds for development purposes, the Government should release the money to the districts.

“Those who want the money to pass through the king, let them receive it but we shall put ours to educating children.”

Responding to Otafiire’s remarks, district chairman Longino Ndyanabo said the item was presented in the councils in a mysterious way.

It came and it passed without any resolution, he noted. “As the district chairman, I don’t support it at all.”

The district councils in the districts of Bushenyi, Mbarara, Ntungamo, Ibanda and Isingiro recently discussed the issue of reinstating the Ankole kingdom.

The majority of councils rejected the idea but they deferred the item to the next council meeting when it will officially be put on the agenda.

According to the district speakers, the man behind the move is the Omukama (king) of Bunyoro, Gafabusa Iguru, who heads the traditional leaders’ forum.

Iguru wrote to the district speakers requesting them to table the restoration of the Ankole kingdom before the council for consideration.

Quoting the cultural conference that took place in Masindi in November, the Bunyoro king said it was recommended that Prince John Barigye be recognised as the king of Ankole and restored.

In a related development, the State Minister for Finance, Emprahim Kamuntu, has blasted the Bunyoro king for interfering in the affairs of other regions.

Kamuntu, also MP of Sheema South, was addressing members of the Kashekuro youth association at St.Charles Lwanga on Friday.

“Can you imagine the king of Bunyoro instructing the districts of Ankole to put on the agenda the issue of the restoration of the Ankole kingdom?” he asked.

“Suppose we also write to the speaker of Bunyoro, instructing him and the people of Bunyoro to remove King Solomon, can he accept”?

Kamuntu said the people of Ankole see no benefit in the restoration of the kingdom, adding that it would be divisive.

He called President Yoweri Museveni the real king of Ankole, arguing that under his leadership, the region has registered a number of developments which were non-existent during the leadership of Ankole kings.

He cited the construction of roads connecting all districts of the region, the construction of new schools and the support to the agricultural sector through NAADS.

He also announced that the Government will soon extend electricity from Kashekuro to Kibanga, from Kitagata to Kasna, from Bugongi to Kajuko, from Kibingo to Karera and from Nyakasizi to Nyeihanga.
