Tough luck Mukyala Rehema. I looked for one for $12K in vain. It was further in the interior.

Dems “All Republicans are extremists” is set of the NY 23 race

October 31st, 2009 No comments

You know the routine — All Republicans are racist, evil doers and liars… Some more of Obama’s school of politics… When fear and hate mongers call everyone not them fear and hate mongers.

http://legalinsurrection.blogspot.com/2009/10/doug-hoffman-is-scaaary.html

>>> Dede Scazzafava’s decision to drop out of the NY-23 race has evoked a round of name-calling and fear-mongering from the left-wing blogosphere not seen since … Wednesday when the left-wing blogosphere shouted “you lie” at Joe Lieberman and called Lieberman a traitor:

* DownWithTyrrany! – Doug Hoffman is an “ultra right extremist.” * Andrew Sullivan – “This blood in the water will bring on more and more and deadlier and deadlier sharks.” * AMERICAblog – “There is no room for different ideas in the modern day GOP. The teabaggers rule their world.” * Jake McIntyre at DailyKos- Republican Party now “a wild-eyed, exclusionist, birther religio-beast.” * Hullabaloo – Watch for the return of the “radical, paranoid right wingers.”

There is a method to this madness. Hoffman has not won the election yet. Expect a full-out media blitz by the Democrats in the last three days of the campaign to portray Hoffman as the reincarnation of Timothy McVeigh.

It’s a meme the George Soros crowd is dusting off as we speak.

Hassan if the oposition can unite and put up just one person to stand they will possibly put up a substancial challenge against NRM but until they do that and instead have even more parties mushrooming they can forget. On Museven being a liar, whether you are a politician or a political fan, you should realise that politics and lies/empty promises go hand in hand. Politicians lie intentionally or un intentionally. Intentionally in that they some times tell people what they want to hear regardless of whether it is applicable or not. Un intentionally in that some times they think they will be abble to excute their promises but circumstances just don’ t allow them to do so. Let’s say for example at this time, forumists are talking about Uganda’ s economy and the fact that there are no jobs. Suppose you are an oposition leader and you win. What miracle are you going to do to change the current economic stuation let alone creating jobs for every Ugandan capable of working? My guess is nothing. So in the long run you will be a liar. Politics is who gets what, when and how. It is not just what somebody says and how he says it but also what he does and how he does it.

: {WHY?}:Do we need Kingdom players out of elective politics

October 31st, 2009 No comments

Mw. kituuka,

How do you expect people not to have “voter apathy”, with such blatancy of vote rigging that has so defined the NRM led voting process in Uganda?

I would say the fight now for the opposition, should not be accepting defeat before the match, but about obtaining an unbiased class of international monitors from a more reliable source than the blind ones that have been sent to us in the past. We want the credentials of these individuals before they step foot in Uganda to monitor our voting polls.

Folks in the opposition party need to get involved in this process-if need be, they can petition philanthropic foundations in “concert” to fund a well planned and thought out project to build platforms that will ensure zero tolerance of vote rigging.

Lets work towards the end goal of obtaining, globally acceptable election results in the 2011 voting in Uganda- the way things look now, we have barely scratched the practical surface of achieving this goal.

Do not leave all the drumming and dancing to the incumbent party with oodles of money and already in the lead! Work needs to be done at the commission level too-make sure we have non-partisan folks giving new meaning and fresh new rules of engagement.

The rule that is most popular this time, is the rule that punishes or automatically excludes those candidate caught in the practice of rigging-the parameters could be worked out clearly, so as not to exclude good people. In the case of Buganda and their cultural heads, excluding them in the process of engaging and determining would be business partners, would be a terrible mistake indeed. As stake holders( partners of development), they also need to ensure that they do not wake up in the middle of the night killing from a toxic gas accident or disaster similar to India’s Bopul. Communities and especially the leads of those communities need to be proactively involved to rally their own people and buy into Ideas of development that are deemed to impact them environmentally, economically and spatially(land wise).

If the only time they are polled is when they realize that their “rain forest” has been sold to make sugar fields or a discovery of strange cancers in their midst, that is not responsible policy nor is it fair to them and it ought to be ruled against by our courts.

Whether such involvement of a King and Katikiro, to rally their people around a central question of interest that would impact their community is deemed political is a debate that we’ll leave to those who are tackling development in a reverse fashion.

I would hope that, the monopoly enjoyed by NRM stalwarths given that we have little to celebrate in 23 years, except having more corruptoin coupled with being the #1 booze heads of the world, have begun to worry them-I would.

$160,000 Per Stimulus Job? White House Calls That ‘Calculator Abuse’

Think how many jobs were destroyed by sucking $160,000 per job out of the real economy

$160,000 Per Stimulus Job? White House Calls That ‘Calculator Abuse’

By Jake Tapper ABC News October 30, 2009

Posting its results late this afternoon at Recovery.gov, the White House claimed 640,329 jobs have been created or saved because of the $159 billion in stimulus funds allocated as of Sept. 30.

Officials acknowledged the numbers were not exact, saying that states and localities that reported the numbers have made mistakes.

In recent days, the Recovery Act board has been reviewing all the numbers, with many inaccurate ones having been posted. California’s San Joaquin Regional Rail Commission received $5 million in stimulus funds to hire workers to build addition train track for the Union Pacific Railroad in an economically tarnished spot of the Golden State.

Brian Schmidt, director of planning and programming for the commission said that his staff originally reported to the Obama administration that the stimulus money saved 250 jobs. Then, realizing they had mistakenly double credited, they later changed that to 125 jobs. Tuesday, they updated it again to 74 jobs.

Ed DeSeve, senior advisor to the president for Recovery Act implementation, said he’d been “scrubbing” the job estimates so much since they came it at the beginning of the month that he now has “dishpan hands and my fingers are worn to the nub.”

White House officials heralded the unparalleled transparency in reporting job numbers to the public, but acknowledged there is no consistent standard across states or localities, or among federal agencies giving out stimulus funds, in differentiating between a “saved” job and a “created” job.

The White House argues that the actual job number is actually larger than 640,000 — closer to 1 million jobs when one factors in stimulus jobs added in October and, more importantly, jobs created indirectly, such as “the waitress who’s still on the job,” Vice President Biden said today.

So let’s see. Assuming their number is right — 160 billion divided by 1 million. Does that mean the stimulus costs taxpayers $160,000 per job?

Jared Bernstein, chief economist and senior economic advisor to the vice president, called that “calculator abuse.”

He said the cost per job was actually $92,000 — but acknowledged that estimate is for the whole stimulus package as of the end of 2010.

Vice President Biden heralded news this week of gross domestic product growth in the 3rd quarter of 3.5 percent, saying “the economic forecasters have attributed … the vast bulk of this growth to the Economic Recovery Act — the much-maligned and battered Economic Recovery Act. Put another way, without the Economic Recovery Act, it’s very unlikely this economy would have expanded at all this last quarter. It may have even contracted.”

DeSeve and Bernstein were not able to say how many of the 640,329 jobs were saved and how many were created. How do they know that government officials asking for stimulus funds to help prevent layoffs were legitimate?

“What we have to do is expect that our public officials are honest,” DeSeve said. “I know that’s a high bar.”

Joining Biden at an event in which reporters were not permitted to ask questions, California Republican Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger said the money California has received “has created or saved 62,000 teachers’ jobs; but not only teachers’ jobs. Those are for administrators and professors. So there’s again people that said, ‘Well, we would have done something about that, anyway.’ No, those teachers would have been gone if it wouldn’t have been for the federal stimulus money. I just wanted to make sure you understand that.”

Of the 640,329 jobs cited today, White House officials said 80,000 were in the construction sector and more than half — 325,000 — were education jobs, despite President Obama’s claim in January that 90 percent of the stimulus jobs would be in the private sector. Bernstein said Mr. Obama’s pledge was an assessment of the totality of the jobs saved or created by the end of 2010.

Officials pointed out that today’s report did not include jobs saved or created by more than $80 billion in tax cuts, as well as other money in the $787 billion stimulus package, such as $250 stimulus checks for 54 million Americans.

*BUCKINGHAM MOSQUE …WHAT FANATICS WANT TO CALL THE PALACE*

*Extremists website show how Palace would look with a dome*

Thursday October 29,2009

*By David Pilditch*

*A FANATICAL Muslim group campaigning to impose sharia law on Britain wants to turn Buckingham Palace into a mosque, it was revealed last night.*

Days before a potentially incendiary rally in central London, the hardline Islam4UK group claims to have uncovered historical evidence which challenges the right of the Queen to live at the royal property.

Notorious hate preacher Anjem Choudary is calling for the palace to be renamed Buckingham Masjid, the Arabic word for mosque.

The Mall, which approaches the palace, would become Masjid Road.

Choudary, the right-hand man of exiled cleric Sheikh Omar Bakri Mohammed, spoke out as he urged Muslims across Britain to join Saturdays rally to demand a complete overhaul of the British legal system and the introduction of sharia courts.

The protest is due to begin at 1pm outside the Houses of Parliament and end at Trafalgar Square, less than a mile from Buckingham Palace, raising concerns over security.

Last night angry politicians and fellow Muslims condemned Choudarys comments.

Tory MP Philip Davies compared Choudary to the leader of the BNP, saying: This mans a complete idiot. Hes the Muslim equivalent to Nick Griffin. Im all for free speech and people having the right to have their say but, equally, there are all these ridiculous laws the Government has introduced about inciting racial hatred. Quite clearly, thats what he is doing.

If these laws are in place, they have to work both ways they cant apply to just one group of people.

In a rambling diatribe, Choudary wrote on the Islam4UK website: There is a spark that has ignited and its flame has become unstoppable.

*SEARCH UK NEWS for:*

In recent years the world has witnessed an Islamic resurgence which continues to grow in strength.

We find ourselves in the year 2009, waiting for Rome to fall, waiting for the White House to fall and indeed waiting for Buckingham Palace to fall.

Choudary said that under sharia law the Queens official residence in London would have a dome fitted and a tannoy system to call followers to prayer.

The Palace would be used as a judiciary court for handing down sharia punishments and a detention place for prisoners of war.

In addition, the building would become the headquarters of the Islamic States supreme leadership and the Department of Information and Culture.

Choudary also called for the Crown Jewels to be melted down into more appealing jewellery, free from idolatrous engravings or symbols such as crosses or human beings.

Islam4UKs website shows mock-up images of the Palace as a mosque and the Crown Jewels being melted.

Choudary added: At present, Buckingham Palace is nothing more than a hollow building exploited by the rich and withheld from any real use.

Under the sharia this would never happen, rather the British community would see it converted into a flourishing mosque which would be of a great benefit, not only for those residing in London but also the country as a whole.

The Islam4UK movement is made up of leading members of the banned radical al-Muhajiroun group which was once led by Choudary. Around 15 per cent of people convicted in the UK of terrorism-related offences in the last decade were either members of the group or had links to it.

The Centre for Social Cohesion last night warned of the dangers of Choudarys preachings.

Houriya Ahmed, a researcher for the independent think-tank , said: I think they are just doing this for publicity.

Anjem Choudary is a ridiculous man. But that does not mean his ideology is not dangerous.

Muslim leader Abdul Hamid Qureshi, chairman of the Lancashire Council of Mosques, said: The sad fact is that this organisation is driving the agenda. What they are saying is totally wrong. They are only a small bunch of people. There is no sense in it it is not Islam.

A Scotland Yard spokesman said: We are discussing the potential demonstrations on October 31.
